About this blog

At the vet clinic we have a new product called "thundershirt."  It is suppose to provide solutions to dog anxiety without the use of drugs.  The goal of this blog is to experiment with this new product and see if it actually works. After my findings I hope to give my opinion to my co-workers and the clients.  Here is a list of what the thundershirt 100% guarantees:
  • Fear of Thunder
  • Separation Anxiety
  • Barking Problems
  • Any Noise Anxiety
  • Car or Travel Anxiety
  • Crate Anxiety
  • Reactivity
  • General Fearfulness
  • Excitability
  • Leash Pulling
  • General Training Tool
Bella is a year and a half old coonhound lab mix.  She loves majority of people, loves running and being a bouncy girl, and running and howling in her sleep.  Out of this list I would say that my dog, Bella, has majority of these issues whether it be a big issue or small.  Bella top issues on this list are: fear of thunder (or fireworks), separation anxiety, excitability, and leash pulling.  Her smaller issues include: noise anxiety (feels the need to protect) and car or travel (only with excitability).   The issues left on the list are barking problems - she doesn't have to much of, crate anxiety - she loves her crate and considers it a safe zone because we trained her this way, reactivity - again not an issue, and the others haven't been an issue because she is a happy happy dog.  I'm excited to test drive this shirt out and see if it actually helps!
